AeroComply takes your data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

1. Introduction

AeroComply (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a compliance preparation and assessment platform for FAA Part 145 certificated repair stations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our website and platform services.

By using AeroComply, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our platform.

  • Location, auditor name, and contact information
  • Email address when provided for communications or PDF delivery
  • Compliance audit responses and observations
  • Corrective action notes and resolution documentation

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our platform we may collect:

  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring URL
  • General geographic location based on IP address

2.3 Payment Information

Payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. AeroComply does not store credit card numbers, bank account information, or other sensitive financial data. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information and can be found at stripe.com/privacy.

3. How We Store Your Data

3.1 Local Browser Storage

Compliance audit responses, corrective action records, station profile information, and audit history are stored locally in your browser using localStorage technology. This data resides on your device and is not automatically transmitted to AeroComply servers.

Local storage data is associated with your specific browser and device. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete locally stored audit information. AeroComply is not responsible for data loss resulting from browser data clearing, device failure, or similar events.

3.2 Account Data

If you create a Pro or Platform account, your audit data, corrective action records, and profile information are stored securely on our servers. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

3.3 Data Retention

Free user data: stored locally in your browser only. PDF Report purchase data: cached locally for 30 days following purchase to facilitate potential upgrade. Pro and Platform account data: retained for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days following cancellation, after which it is permanently deleted unless you request earlier deletion. Email addresses collected for waitlist or communications: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and improve the AeroComply platform and services
  • Generate AI-assisted compliance reports based on your audit responses
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails including PDF report delivery and receipts
  • Send product updates and new feature announcements (you may opt out at any time)
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve platform functionality
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. AI-Generated Content and Your Data

AeroComply uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, to analyze your audit responses and generate compliance reports. When you generate an AI compliance report, your audit answers and any notes you have entered are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing.

This transmission is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy and usage policies. We do not use your audit data to train AI models. Your compliance data is used solely to generate your specific report and is not retained by Anthropic beyond the processing of your request.

6. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information or audit data to third parties.

We may share information with:

  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Anthropic for AI report generation (audit data only, as described in Section 5)
  • Service providers who assist in operating our platform, subject to confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law or valid legal process
  • Successor entities in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users

7. Compliance Data Confidentiality

We understand that your audit responses may contain sensitive operational information about your repair station. We treat all audit data as confidential and do not share, disclose, or use your specific compliance findings, corrective actions, or audit results for any purpose other than providing you with the platform services you have requested.

We do not share individual audit results with the FAA, other government agencies, air carriers, or any third party without your explicit written consent, except as required by law.

8. Aggregate and Anonymized Data

We may use anonymized, aggregated data — such as industry-wide compliance score distributions or common finding categories — for research, platform improvement, and benchmarking features. This data cannot be used to identify individual repair stations or specific audit results.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Our platform uses browser localStorage for functional data storage as described above. We may use session cookies for authentication and platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking cookies.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling cookies may affect platform functionality.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include HTTPS encryption for all data transmission, secure server infrastructure, and access controls for staff who handle user data.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your audit data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Request that we stop processing your data (subject to legal and contractual obligations)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address listed in the Contact section below. We will respond to requests within 30 days.

12. Children's Privacy

AeroComply is intended for use by business professionals and is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of AeroComply after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
